The exhibition Étoiles solitaires & das jüngste Blut follows up on last year’s intimate exhibition at Viadukt Karlín. It began with the idea of showcasing works by artists who emerged from the Ceramic Design studio at the Sutnar Faculty. This year, the faculty invites visitors to the Ladislav Sutnar Gallery in the center of the West Bohemian metropolis. Works by twenty-eight graduates and current students of the studio will be on display there starting Wednesday, April 8. The exhibition opening begins at 6:00 p.m. Visitors can then admire the ceramic art until Saturday, May 23.
Many of the artists invited to participate in this exhibition created entirely new works. The exhibition’s title combines the French phrase Étoiles solitaires (lonely stars) with the German phrase das jüngste Blut (the youngest blood), thereby referencing both the individuality of each artist and the emerging generation of creators. “The combination of languages also underscores the tension between poetics and urgency, which is reflected in the works themselves,” added Gabriel Vach, the exhibition’s curator and head of the Ceramic Design studio.
The Ladislav Sutnar Gallery in Pilsen will feature: Tomáš Černý, Adéla Drobníková, Šárka Drda Ištvánová, Ester Fillová, Michael Franče, Markéta Kalivodová, Eliška Kalousová, Juliana Kimličková, Tannia Klimenko, Magdalena Komancová, Kateřina Kopecká, Ester Kudláčková, Alžběta Ledvinová, Alena Lišková, Nonna Lorenz, Manka Lustigová, Kira Matvejko, Kryštof Míchal, Anežka Müllerová, Viktorie Nácalová, Nalejto, Natálie Reichsteinová, Lucie Tvrdíková, Anna Šupolíková, Eva Ungvári, Lenka Záhorková, Veronika Zálešáková a Jiří Žežula.
