The Ladislav Sutnar Faculty of Design and Art at the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen invites visitors, over the summer holidays, to the exhibition 100 × 100 × 100 × 100. The Ladislav Sutnar Gallery will present contemporary work by lecturers from five Central European art schools. The project stems from a simple but fairly strict curatorial brief: every exhibited work must fit within a transport box measuring 100 × 100 × 100 cm and weigh no more than 100 kg.
These fixed conditions bring out the differing approaches of individual artists, evident in their choice of material, form, technique, and treatment of theme. This unique sculpture showcase will feature work by lecturers from the Jan Matejko Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków, the Faculty of Multimedia Communications of the Tomáš Baťa University in Zlín, the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Art and Design in Wrocław, the Academy of Arts in Banská Bystrica, and the Sutnar Faculty in Pilsen. The exhibition's curators are Daniela Kramerová and Luděk Míšek.
The exhibition 100 × 100 × 100 × 100 at the Ladislav Sutnar Gallery opens with a vernissage on Wednesday, July 15, at 5 p.m. It will then be open to the public from July 16 to August 20.
