Artificial intelligence is rapidly becoming a common part of studying. It helps with exam preparation, writing academic papers, and navigating information. However, what matters is not only which tool you use, but also how you use it. This is exactly what the online workshop Prompt Like a Pro: Practical AI Tips with Microsoft Copilot focuses on. It is intended for students of the University of West Bohemia.
During the 90-minute session, participants will learn how to formulate prompts that yield accurate, high-quality outputs, how to work with AI-generated responses, and how to maintain a critical perspective. “A well-formulated prompt can significantly influence both the speed and quality of academic work. The goal is to show that AI can be a powerful assistant if used correctly and with an understanding of its limitations,” said Lenka Jirsová, Director of the University’s Centre for Information Technology and Services, which organized the workshop.
According to her, participants will gain not only a theoretical introduction to the role of AI in studying, but also many practical tips and the opportunity to try everything themselves. They will learn how to use AI effectively for learning, writing academic texts, and conducting research. The training also covers safety and academic integrity. Participants will learn how to use AI ethically, handle data properly, and avoid inaccuracies or inappropriate use.
The Centre for Information Technology and Services will offer the online workshop via MS Teams on two dates: On Wednesday, April 8, 1:00–2:30 PM, and on Friday, April 10, 9:30–11:00 AM
