Jarmila Pavlátová, lawyer and university educator, passed away on Friday, May 22, at the age of 92. As an expert in labor and social security law she contributed to the creation of the 1965 Labor Code and spent the final years of her professional career at the UWB's Faculty of Law.

Jarmila Pavlátová was a prominent figure in Czech legal scholarship. For many years, she served at the Faculty of Law of the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen, where she led the Department of Labor Law and Social Security Law. In addition to her teaching, she was dedicated to scholarly publishing and the education of several generations of lawyers.

She made her mark in the history of Czech law primarily through her involvement in preparing the 1965 Labor Code. As a member of the legislative team, she contributed to creating a new concept of labor law, the principles of which still influence the Czech legal framework today.

Colleagues remember Jarmila Pavlátová not only as a respected expert but also as a kind and inspiring individual. '"We will remember her as a personality with a broad professional perspective, a sharp and critical judgment, and as a warm person who supported younger colleagues. Honor to her memory," stated her colleague from the Faculty of Law, Miroslav Hromada.
