The Department of Philosophy at the Faculty of Arts of the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen, together with the Society for Aesthetics, invite the public to an evening where culture meets ideas. The informal event takes place at the University Café Družba on Wednesday, 28 January at 6 p.m. and will revolve around the journal Kuděj. The evening aims to show how even an academic publication can become a lively meeting point for people from the university and beyond.
At Café Družba, authors Jan Josl, Petr Pola and Jan Staněk will share their texts and personal reflections firsthand. The evening will also feature author readings by Jan Sojka and Martina Kastnerová, while live music will be provided by the band Džangobells. The highlight of the program will be the presentation of the latest issue of Kuděj (2/2025), which is also available online.
Founded in 1999, Kuděj is a peer-reviewed scholarly journal devoted to cultural history in a broad chronological and disciplinary scope across the humanities. Since 2016, it has also been indexed in the prestigious international ERIH PLUS database.
