FEL Lecture Sustainability

The era of fossil fuels is gradually coming to an end, and the transition to environmentally friendly and sustainable energy sources is becoming inevitable. One possible solution is small modular nuclear reactors. How can they be used, and are they safe? FEL UWB invites you to an expert lecture.

Admission: free
Intended for: students, staff, schools, general public
Contact: Iveta Pangrácová

An overview of current projects in the field of small modular reactors (SMRs), including their technological and economic aspects and their potential impact on the Czech Republic’s energy security, will be presented on Wednesday, March 25, at 13:00 at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of West Bohemia in Pilsen.

The lecture will be delivered by Miloš Kejzlar from ČEZ, who will discuss SMRs and their role in transforming the Czech energy sector. He will present the company’s current SMR projects and their importance for the country’s energy self-sufficiency. He will also cover the technological principles of SMRs, their advantages over traditional nuclear units, and outline ČEZ’s current direction in low-emission energy.

The program will also include a presentation of career opportunities for graduates of technical fields in the energy sector, as well as specific job opportunities at ČEZ.

The lecture will be held in Czech.
