The University of West Bohemia in Pilsen invites participants to an online workshop focused on pedagogy on Tuesday, 30 June, from 4:00 p.m. The workshop will be led by Ying Suet Michelle Lung from the University of Utah in the United States. It will focus on how teachers can intentionally incorporate the principles of peace, inclusion, and respectful communication into their teaching. Participants will explore how language choices, communication styles, and how discussions are facilitated influence relationships in the classroom, student engagement across diverse groups, and the overall educational environment.

The program is based on the principles of peace philosophy, peace journalism, and curriculum design. It is intended primarily for teacher educators and school teachers. It will offer specific strategies for supporting equal participation, mutual understanding, and sensitivity to individual and cultural differences. The aim is to show that inclusive and peace-oriented pedagogy is not an abstract concept, but a set of practical approaches that can be used in everyday teaching.

The workshop will take place online. Those interested can join via the Zoom link. The organizers recommend registering in advance on the EUPeace website. The workshop will be conducted in English.

The workshop is part of a series of online meetings organized within the European university alliance EUPeace, of which the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen is also a member. Cooperation with the lecturer was established by Tereza Havránková and Gabriela Klečková from the Faculty of Education at the University of West Bohemia during an Erasmus+ job shadowing program at the University of Utah.
