Programmers, design engineers or project managers. Hundred companies will be recruiting at UWB

Students Press Release Public

More than one hundred Czech and international companies will once again offer internships, part-time jobs and full-time positions – mainly to students of the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen. Recruiters will fill the technical faculties on 25 March, from 10 am until 4 pm. The public is welcome.

The Job Fair at the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen annually attracts nearly 4,000 students and graduates. “Exhibitors are generally most interested in students and graduates from technical faculties across virtually all disciplines. However, this does not mean that students of the humanities would not find opportunities here,” said Petr Břicháček from the Student Union. He also advises students and other visitors to prepare for meetings with companies in advance. The basics, he says, include updating one’s CV and clarifying which positions they are interested in.

Recruiters will offer students and graduates a wide range of opportunities, from trainee programmes and part-time jobs to full-time employment. As in previous years, the University of West Bohemia will also present itself as an employer. This year, visitors will find us at stands located at all three technical faculties. Students often do not realize that they can also find employment at the university after completing their studies. We offer academic and research positions as well as administrative, technical and other professional roles,” added Štěpánka Pirnosová, Head of the Human Resources Department at the University of West Bohemia.

In February, there were 7,000 vacant jobs in the Pilsen Region. Companies have long been seeking applicants with university degrees for many of these positions.Employers often start looking for university-educated professionals already among students during their studies. These are typically various technical professions in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, IT and related fields,” said Pavla Janovská, Director of the Pilsen Regional Office of the Czech Labour Office. According to her, employers in the region are currently also increasingly seeking healthcare professionals, teachers and school psychologists.

The facilities of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, and the Faculty of Applied Sciences will host the exhibition and presentations by more than 100 employers. The fair is once again organised jointly by the University of West Bohemia, the Student Union at UWB in Pilsen, and the student organisation IAESTE UWB. A list of companies and positions offered by recruiters at this year's fair is available in the fair guide.
