The Ladislav Sutnar Faculty of Design and Art at the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen invites you to the second part of the semester exhibition project Rovnováha (Balance). From Wednesday, 3 June to Saturday, 4 July, the Ladislav Sutnar Gallery will present student works created primarily in the design studios of the Sutnar Faculty. The exhibition explores the theme of balance through material, form, space, and visual communication.
The heart of the exhibition is formed by objects from the Metalworking and Jewelry studio, where the project's central theme is reflected in the exploration of weight, tension, and material structure. The show also features work from the Fashion Design, Furniture and Interior Design, Graphic Design, and Illustration studios. Students from the Book Design, Paper Shaping, and New Media studios will also present their work. The exhibition spans a wide range of design disciplines, from artist jewelry and objects to fashion, poster design, book illustration, and painting.
Curator Daniela Kramerová notes that alongside personal themes, the students' works also engage with social and environmental questions. The exhibition equally reflects the faculty's natural orientation toward design as a discipline that bridges aesthetics, function, and social context.
The opening reception will be held on 3 June at 6 pm. On Wednesday, 10 June, visitors will have the opportunity to tour both exhibitions with the curator. The guided walkthrough begins at 4 pm at the Pilsen City Gallery and continues at the Ladislav Sutnar Gallery.
