Speaking confidently in a foreign language isn’t always easy, but there’s a lot you can learn. The student association
ESN UWB Pilsen is now offering help to students at the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen. In collaboration with the Kompetia language school, organizers have prepared two online workshops for May designed to help students speak English more fluently and confidently. Each workshop will last 90 minutes and will be conducted in English. However, space is limited, so those interested should not hesitate to register.
The first workshop, titled
Speak Without the Script – Fluent Monologue in English, starts on Wednesday,
May 13, at 4 p.m. Instructors will teach participants how to stay calm when their vocabulary fails them and how to use nervousness as an ally. The workshop will also demonstrate how to structure a fluent speech without reading from a script. Participants will learn techniques for maintaining fluency, strategies for managing nervousness and staying calm while speaking, and phrases and structures for confident, spontaneous speech. They will gain greater confidence in speaking English without preparation or notes. Those interested in this workshop
can register using the appropriate form.
The second online seminar, titled
Present Like You Mean It: Structure and Confidence in Speaking, begins on Thursday,
May 21, at 4 p.m. It focuses on the key building blocks of a confident English presentation: clear structure, natural delivery, and the ability to hold the audience’s attention. A strong presentation isn’t just about the content. It’s about how the speaker opens, how their voice sounds, and whether people in front of them feel that the speaker believes in what they’re saying. This workshop promises to teach participants techniques for an impactful opening and a memorable conclusion, how to work with their voice, pacing, and audience engagement, and a reliable structure for presentations and speeches in English. They should also leave with practical tools they can use right away at their next ESN event, seminar, or international gathering.
You can register using this form.
