Students of the University of West Bohemia can take part in the UWB Boulder Flashpoint 2026 competition. Anyone who holds student status at UWB at the time of the event is eligible to participate. The competition follows the rules of competitive climbing and the regulations of the Czech Mountaineering Association. Participants can expect a combination of qualification rounds and a final.
Competitors can qualify from Monday, May 18, to Wednesday, May 22. They can choose any day and time within the climbing center’s opening hours. The final will take place on Monday, May 25, from 9:30 to 12:00. The top eight men and top eight women from the qualification will advance. Final boulders will be climbed in the onsight format, meaning on the first attempt without prior knowledge of the route. Each competitor will have four minutes per boulder.
“We want to offer a competition that both beginners and advanced climbers can enjoy. Bouldering is a great opportunity to test strength, technique, and strategy in a friendly atmosphere,” said Adam Reiterman from the climbing center on behalf of the organizers.
Interested participants can register online on the climbing center’s website until May 15. The entry fee is CZK 50 and is payable on site. A list of registered participants is available here.
