Imagine two different ways of waking up. In the first, you’re greeted by the crunch of fresh snow under your boots and the endless tranquility of the Finnish landscape, where time on the university campus seems to have almost come to a standstill. In the second, you’re thrust into a new day by a medley of street food aromas, the colors of tropical vegetation, and the ceaseless buzz of Thai streets. Both worlds are connected by one fundamental experience: Erasmus. A program that pulls students out of the comfort of the Czech academic environment and throws them into the unknown, where they learn not only theory in school, but above all, the skills to survive and thrive in a foreign environment.
Vlastimil Orlovský and Vít Mikulanda will share their experiences from these two geographical and cultural extremes on Wednesday, April 22, at 5:00 p.m. at the University Library of the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen. Everyone is welcome - whether you’re thinking about taking a trip yourself or are intrigued by travel stories about two fascinating corners of the planet.
