For the 10th time, the traditional charitable family event, RUN for ProCit, will take place in Pilsen this year. The event will be held on 18 April in Borský Park with the participation of the University of West Bohemia. The first runners will set off at 10:00 a.m. The proceeds from the event are intended for families caring for children with autism spectrum disorder. Everyone can contribute, whether running or not. Those interested can purchase a race entry or buy a small gift on the day of the event. Participants in the blue run thus have the opportunity to improve their health, meet new people, and, of course, support a good cause.
And according to the leadership of the Faculty of Education of the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen, supporting a good cause makes sense, which is why the faculty has been a partner of the run for many years. Students regularly take part in organizing the event and its accompanying programme, helping to create a friendly atmosphere for entire families. Nordic walking instructors from the Faculty’s Centre of Physical Education and Sport accompany participants on a special two-kilometre walking route. Other instructors organize exercise activities for children as part of the programme.
Children’s races start at 10:00 a.m. and 10:10 a.m. The 2 km run begins at 10:15 a.m., and the 5 km run at 10:45 a.m. Athletes and non-athletes, children and adults alike, can register either on site on the day of the event from 8:30 a.m. or online here. Online registration closes on 18 April at 12:00 p.m.
The charitable RUN for ProCit is held under the auspices of the Mayor of Pilsen, Roman Zarzycký. The patron of the event is Pavel Režný, a musical actor of the J. K. Tyl Theatre and recipient of the 2020 Thalia Award.
