The Pilsen Museum Night will feature a ceramics exhibition from Sutnar Faculty

FDU Public Exhibition

The Ladislav Sutnar Gallery invites all art and design enthusiasts to an exhibition of ceramic objects titled Étoiles solitaires & das jüngste Blut. As part of Pilsen Museum Night, the exhibition will remain open until 11:00 p.m.

The Ladislav Sutnar Gallery will be exceptionally open until 11 p.m. on Friday, May 22. As part of the Pilsen Museum Night, visitors can see an exhibition of works by graduates of the Ceramic Design studio at the Ladislav Sutnar Faculty of Design and Art at the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen, complemented by selected pieces by current students. The project, titled Étoiles solitaires & das jüngste Blut, features works by 27 artists. The exhibition was curated by studio head Gabriel Vach.

"We selected the exhibited works so that none would be more than three years old, including diploma theses. These are largely recent pieces by graduates who passed through the studio over the past ten years. And there are also a few things created specially for this occasion," said Gabriel Vach. He also explained how the exhibition got its unusual name: "French, I think, represents a certain mystery for many people who don't speak it. And the reason German also makes sense in the title is that the major porcelain manufacturers in the territory of what was then Czechoslovakia were in German hands between the wars. And to this day, when we talk about certain craft matters related to porcelain, we still use Germanisms." Part of the exhibition will move on to the Křehký Mikulov festival (May 29–31, 2026) after the Ladislav Sutnar Gallery show closes.
