Movie Nights: Fast Times at Ridgemont High

In collaboration with the American Center in Plzeň, the University Library invites you to movie nights at the Library Bory. The first film to be screened is the 1982 American comedy film Fast Times at Ridgemont High, which was Amy Heckerling's feature directorial debut.

This year, movie nights at the University Library will feature films from the "American High School Comedy Series" and you'll be able to watch how American high school has changed through the generations. The first film will give a glimpse into the world of Generation X, while the next two movie nights will feature Generations Z and Z-Alpha. The screening will conclude with a fourth film looking into the world of the youngest generation, Z-Beta. Specifically, you can look forward to the following films:

February 19 Fast Times at Ridgemont High (1982)
March 19 Election (1999)
April 14 Superbad (2007)
May 7 Bottoms (2023)

The films will be screened in collaboration with the American Center in Plzeň in English with English subtitles, and each screening will be introduced in English by Bradley Vice, a lecturer at the Faculty of Education specializing in American literature. The screenings will take place in the hall of the Library Bory ( Univerzitní 18) starting at 5:00 p.m.
