This time, the exhibition, organized around several thematic units, will focus on contemporary jewelry, sound objects, eco- and socio-conscious works, in addition to traditional design themes. In the spirit of all-arts, the exhibition will be enriched by contemporary and classical music concerts and a curatorial guided tour on July 19-20.

The exhibition and event series are part of the Bratislava Cultural Summer Festival.

This year, the Umelka Gallery will host a special jubilee design and all-arts exhibition and event series.

Following the exhibitions in Vienna and Budapest, the 20th jubilee exhibition and event series comes to Bratislava. Design Without Borders showcases, besides the works of regional artists, the works of nearly 140 creators from 12 countries arranged around several thematic units.

The exhibition includes a significant retrospective selection, drawing attention to the broader concept of design, the diversity of design object creation, the work of internationally influential designers, as well as works by different generations, emerging artists, and university students from various countries. There is a strong focus on eco- and socio-conscious projects, works on the borderline between fine art and design, sound objects, and a representative selection of contemporary jewelry also awaits visitors.

The specialty of the exhibition is bringing the creations of defining international designers like Yrjö Kukkapuro of Finland, Alvaro Catalán de Ocón of Spain, Studio Dechem of Czechia, Oskar Zięta of Poland, and jewelry designers like Ted Noten of the Netherlands and Susanne Hammer of Austria, along with the award-winners of the Legnica Jewellery Festival SILVER and young emerging artists, all under one roof.
