The group exhibition Sound Laboratory brings together emerging artists from the Ladislav Sutnar Faculty of Design and Art whose exploratory research challenges our perception of sound.

The project invites you to experiment and interact with sound art installations and contribute to the creation of an ever-changing soundscape. Each in their way, the artworks are autonomous installations that, when activated, change the acoustic ecology of the exhibition space. Some of the projects in Sound Laboratory oscillate between unconventional self-made instruments and art objects, others explore the boundary between conceptual jewelry and sound art, and yet other examples employ and combine natural elements, such as water, with technology, to produce a sonic sensation.

The installations invite you to explore their character – to engage with sounds in their raw or altered forms, search for unique ways of perceiving them, or create unpredictable melodies. The outcomes blend together, layering in the gallery space – much like in everyday life, where sound is never isolated. You are entering a participatory sensory space.

The exhibition Sound Laboratory offers the public an interactive experience that thematically connects with the large-scale group exhibition [Anti-] Sound [Post-]Language in Galerie města Plzeň.
