The IRMF is an international film festival whose eighth edition will present several dozen films of the road movie genre over four days. Audiences can discover stories full of adventure, surprises and personal transformations. The festival opens with a number of distinctive titles worth seeing: the Czech-Slovak-Italian film Karavan (an intimate story of a mother and son on a journey through Italy), Sirat (a Cannes award-winning rave apocalypse from the Moroccan desert), and Jean-Luc Godard's French New Wave classic The Crazy Little Peter.
The screenings of Karel Zeman's timeless films will also be a major event of this year's edition. Audiences can look forward to the adventurous Journey to Prehistory, which takes four boys on a journey to ancient animals, and The Stolen Airship, a Verne-esque tale of five Prague boys abducted to fantastic worlds.
One of the festival's evenings will be highlighted by a unique screening of the silent film The King of Kings (1927) with a live electro/rap set.
A traditional part of the IRMF is the BE EQUAL! section, which gives space to films opening up the themes of equality and human rights.
In addition to the above mentioned movies, you can look forward to a documentary section, a collection of short road movies and screenings for young audiences with accompanying programme and creative activities.
UWB in Pilsen is not only a financial supporter of the festival, but IRMF and the UWB Film Club are also preparing a warmup before the start of the festival in the Družba café.
