Encaustic.art is a collective of eleven to thirteen artists who are united by the encaustic art technique. The artists started painting with the encaustic technique in 2004 under the guidance of Marie Kielbusová. As they themselves say, "At that time there were a few of us curious and we had no idea where our creative steps would go. In the following years, painting took place in the framework of so-called creative workshops and workshops under the organisation of the Leisure Centre for Children and Youth in Pilsen Lochotín. Nowadays this centre is called Radovánek and we still have creative facilities there."
Over the years the group of artists has changed, some participants have tried and mastered the technique as a one-off relaxation element, others have been painting for several years, with the most persistent ones approaching 20 years of encaustic creation.
As you can see at the exhibition, each of the artists has her own distinctive style and each has put her feelings, moods, emotions, current mood and perception into her paintings.
The exhibitors are Hana Borovičková, Jana Černá, Olga Dupalová, Dáša Ettlerová, Anna Hostičková, Jasmína Kahovcová, Marie Kielbusová, Marcela Světlíková, Božena Šlajsová, Ivona Tatíčková, Jana Tůmová and Mirka Machová.
Would you like to meet the authors in person? On Wednesday, 12 February at 5 pm in the hall of the Bory Library, the exhibition will be opened with the participation of the authors and music by Vít Kotora. The opening will also include a demonstration of encaustic techniques.
