The music and dance session will feature two compositions by the choir's founder Zdeněk Lukáš, namely Requiem (parts of Requiem, Dies irae, Lacrimosa and Hostias) and Missa brevis.
The choir Česká píseň Plzeň has existed for seventy years. Founded by the important Czech composer Zdeněk Lukáš, the choir has undergone many changes. But no matter whether the external conditions (political, social and cultural situation) or internal conditions (composition of the choir members, leadership of the choirmasters) have changed, Česká píseň has managed to maintain its artistic level from the first years of its activity to the present day. It is still one of the best musical ensembles in western Bohemia and a regular participant in important events in the city of Pilsen and the Pilsen Region. The choir organizes the Pilsen Autumn Music Festival, which promotes song and singing and the tradition of choirs in West Bohemia.
The performance of the choir will be accompanied by pupils of the Bedřich Smetana Primary Art School in Pilsen and the J. S. Bach Primary Art School in Dobřany. The dance group NoTa Plzeň under the leadership of Lenka Jíšová will also perform as a guest.
