The University Library of the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen is hosting a talk and discussion with shepherd and writer František Groessl. The bestselling author of Shepherd's Notes (Pastevcovy zápisky) promises an original narrative full of stories about wolves, sheep and the everyday adventures that come with life among herds, as well as a shepherd’s perspective on events of the past year. The event will take place on Wednesday, March 11, at 5:00 p.m. at the University Library on the UWB campus in Pilsen-Bory.
František Groessl works as a conservationist at ČSOP Libosváry, where he oversees the maintenance of valuable sites in the Český les. His daily companions are sheep, goats, and yaks. He began sharing his experiences on social media, where he humorously and honestly refutes romanticized ideas about the life of a shepherd. The popularity of these posts eventually led to the publication of the book Shepherd’s Notes.
