The lecture AI and Mental Health: Opportunities and Risks will take place on Thursday, November 26, starting at 18:00 at Kulturka in the center of Pilsen. It will offer an overview of current insights into the use of AI for psychological support. It will also highlight situations where artificial intelligence can be a helpful tool and where its use carries risks. The discussion will also cover how AI is changing the way we learn and think, and what data currently show about the impacts of rapid AI transformation in the workplace, such as in software development. Admission to the lecture is free of charge, provided you register in advance via a Google Form.
The topic will be guided by philosophical anthropologist Eva Žáčková, who has long focused on human-machine interaction (HMI). She takes an interdisciplinary approach to the relationship between humans and technology, examining it from both academic and practical perspectives. She is currently researching the impacts of generative AI on mental health. She gains practical insight into how people use AI chatbots through her work with Elin.ai. She also brings the topic of artificial intelligence and mental health into lectures, research, and interdisciplinary collaborations.
PhDr. Eva Žáčková, Ph.D., obtained her Ph.D. in Theory and History of Science and Technology (2008–2015) and her PhDr. in Theory and Philosophy of Communication (2009) at the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen. She worked as the head of the Human-Machine Interaction department at the UWB Research Center. Since 2020, she has been working as a freelance copywriter, specializing in B2B copywriting and strategic communication for tech and AI companies. For the past three years, she has also served as Marketing Director at Elin Society.
