The newly offered Management and Digital Technology program at the Faculty of Economics of the University of West Bohemia in Plzeň (FEK ZČU) is an interdisciplinary program taught in English. Graduates have the opportunity to obtain dual degrees, acquiring excellent language skills, intercultural knowledge focused on Czech and Bavarian contexts, and valuable professional business experience. This unique program is a one-of-a-kind educational offering within the Czech Republic, providing graduates with an excellent foundation for beginning a new professional and personal chapter on either the Czech or German side.
“I am very pleased that we were able to launch this highly specialized and practically oriented program. In September 2024, we enrolled the first 16 students who successfully passed the admission process and are highly motivated. This is something we find meaningful, and I sincerely hope that this program will meet our expectations and, in a few years, we can proudly present our first successful graduates,” says Michaela Krechovská, Dean of the Faculty of Economics.
This new professional bachelor's program is structured as a four-year course. Students will complete part of their studies at the University of West Bohemia and part at the OTH Amberg-Weiden. The program places significant emphasis on practical experience, incorporating professional placements in partner companies, including two mandatory six-month internships in businesses or organizations.
Several institutions have provided significant support from the program’s initial planning stage, including the Regional Chamber of Commerce of Karlovy Vary, IHK Regensburg, the Regional Development Agency of the Plzeň Region, and existing partner companies such as Abydos, Akkodis, Amphenol Tuch. Ind., Autodoc, BAU-STAV, d-ploy, DHL, ept connector, Grammer, Heidrive, Heinz Glas Decor, Konplan, Schmelzer, SCH EKONOM, Sokolovská uhelná, Streicher, Tchibo, Witte Nejdek, and ZF Engineering.
