Researchers’ Night with the Topic Time Invited Visitors to the Campus

University Science Public

Take a look at this year's popular European event to which the University of West Bohemia joined again.

Last year, the event Researchers’ Night had to be held online due to the coronavirus pandemic. However, this year the University of West Bohemia could invite all those interested in science to a personal meeting held at the premises of all three technical Faculties. The Faculty of Electrical Engineering, the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, and the Faculty of Applied Sciences remained open even after dark and welcomed young and adult visitors, who were attracted by this year's theme Time.

The theme was part of most of the exhibitions. Did you want to find out how time is measured and how it was measured by our ancestors? Or were you looking for the answer to the philosophical question "What is time?". How does the economy relate to time and how do you save a life when every minute counts? How do materials change over time and what can we expect in the future? Visitors of the event got answers to all of these questions thanks to the Faculties that prepared the exhibitions. Artists were also included, as the Ladislav Sutnar Faculty of Design and Art ended the event with building projection mapping which was on show at 9.30 p.m.

Researchers’ Night is coordinated by the University of Ostrava and VSB – Technical University of Ostrava, to which other Czech schools and institutions join.
