You are invited to a benefit auction of curated works of art by established contemporary artists, the proceeds of which will support the quality of care for patients in the final stages of illness.

A gala evening with a public and silent auction will take place on Thursday, 28 November at 7 pm at the University Library of the University of West Bohemia in the Bory Campus. Registration is required for the benefit auction.

Before that, on Monday 4 November at 6:30 pm, you can visit the opening, where curator Lucie Šiklová will present a selection from a varied mosaic of works. You will then be able to see the exhibition in the lobby of the library every weekday until the benefit auction.

This year's benefit auction for the hospice is the seventh in a row, and it is the only auction of its kind in the Pilsen Region. There are more than 100 works of art, including prints, paintings, jewellery, objects and photographs. Proceeds from previous benefit auctions have been used by the hospice to purchase medicines, medical supplies and equipment.

The St. Lazarus Hospice in Pilsen has an irreplaceable role in the moment when a dying person cannot spend his last days at home for various reasons, even with professional help, and yet he wants to die with dignity, without unnecessary pain, with facilities for unrestricted visits of family and loved ones. The St. Lazarus Hospice guarantees to the sick person and his/her loved ones that each patient will be under the care of a team of palliative doctors, nurses, social workers, occupational therapists and, if desired, psychotherapists and clergy.
