Do you already have your spot at ArtCamp?

Further Education International Public

There are only a few days left to register for the art and design courses of the ArtCamp summer school. This year, it runs from 8th to 26th July and this is your last chance to secure one of the last places.

Summer, art, fun. This is exactly what awaits participants in the forty courses that traditionally take place over three weeks in July at the Ladislav Sutnar Faculty of Design and Art. Hundreds of amateur and experienced artists will come to discover, support and develop their talents, united by the desire to create, learn from experts and each other, and spend time in the company of people who share their passion for art and design. Will you be among them? The deadline to apply is 31 May.

Do you like typography? Then challenge yourself and create a completely new font based on alphabets from different countries. Get inspired by Hebrew, Arabic and Latin letters, their shapes, history, similarities and differences, and even the feelings they evoke. The week-long course will be led by Israeli artist Avigail Reiner from the Holon Institute of Technology.

Belgian artist Bart Van Dijck will guide you through the experience-based course Art and Ritual. You will embark on a journey of self-discovery and awareness, discover the power of symbols and rituals, recognise your strengths and let go of your fears. This week is likely to change your life.

You can create fascinating photographs in shades of blue using a traditional technique called cyanotype. Under the guidance of Martin Dokoupil, you will learn how to prepare a digital negative, experiment with different techniques to prepare a photogram, and then just watch as pure water and direct sunlight create the final image.

If you are interested in modern photography, you can still join the course Photography and Algorithms, where you will take a journey beneath the surface of photography with photographer Barbara Mrázková. You will explore the algorithmic nature of photography and find your own approach in contrast to the automatic images taken with the features built into today's cameras and mobile phones.

Fans of modern trends will enjoy the opportunity to deepen their knowledge of virtual reality and artificial intelligence. Whether you are an artist, designer, programmer or new technology enthusiast, these courses will take your creativity one step further. The new AI in Creative Design course takes you to the intersection of art and technology. With Michal Pustějovský, you will explore how machine learning can transform interactive design and learn how to integrate AI models into your web projects. The Virtual Reality course, led by Jan Kokolia, will open up new possibilities for using VR. If your vocabulary includes terms like memory palace or metaverse, this course is for you.

You can also try your hand at storyboarding, create an original piece of jewellery inspired by the theme of identity, express yourself in the new media course and focus on live streaming in the video production course.

So, shall we meet at the Sutnar Faculty this summer?
