Archaeological organizations around the world have been offering programs and activities to visitors of all interests and generations on the occasion of International Archeology Day for 13 years. On 19. 10. 2024 from 10:00 to 18:00, you will have the opportunity to touch the past and find out how archaeological research is conducted or what the music of our ancestors sounded like in the laboratories of the Department of Archeology, Faculty of Arts, the University of West Bohemia (Sedláčkova 38).

As part of the excursion, visitors will be able to familiarize themselves with the procedures of archaeological research, from prospecting and the field part through a demonstration of the department's domestic and foreign research to the processes of post-excavation processing. The spirit of the past will be brought closer to you by the sounds that our ancient ancestors could hear, through replicas of prehistoric musical instruments. You will also have the opportunity to touch objects that are thousands of years old.
