The Faculty of Applied Sciences at the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen is celebrating 35 years since its founding. On this occasion, we invite all colleagues, employees, and students from the University of West Bohemia to the faculty courtyard to celebrate this milestone anniversary together.

The traditional FAV UWB Birthday Day is not only intended for current faculty employees. Colleagues from other UWB departments, as well as students and graduates, are also welcome. After an introductory speech by
FAV Dean Miloš Železný, the band The Shower will perform, playing mainly hits from the 1950s and 1960s. Guests can purchase food and drinks at the Ostrov Brewery catering stand throughout the event.
The Faculty of Applied Sciences is one of nine faculties at the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen.
It was established on July 1, 1990, by a decision of the Academic Senate of the former College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering in Pilsen on June 6, 1990. The faculty currently has six departments. The faculty also includes the New Technologies for the Information Society (NTIS) research center. The activities of the NTIS research center are focused on developing cybernetic and mechanical systems, as well as information and bioengineering technologies. Furthermore, research and development of new thin-film materials and plasma sources, geospatial data processing, and mathematical structures designed to support the modeling of the systems and processes under investigation are being developed.
