The workshop Navigation as Key Infrastructure is organized by the Ladislav Sutnar Faculty (LSF) of Design and Art at UWB. Participants will learn about the latest research focused on the creation and operation of the navigation system at Prague International Airport. The workshop is part of the research project Airport Wayfinding: Creating a Navigation System for Václav Havel Airport Prague by LSF doctoral student Zuzana Votrubcová, funded by the Grant Support for Doctoral Students at LSF and the Student Grant Competition.
According to experts from UWB, interdisciplinary cooperation is essential for creating a comprehensive and sustainable system that will function reliably and adapt swiftly to current passenger and employee needs and unexpected crises. The core of the research is graphic design, closely interconnected with other disciplines – such as sociology, psychology, ergonomics, and architecture.
The workshop at the FDU graphic design studio in late November will present doctoral student Votrubcová's project, its goals and outputs and allow participants to discuss issues related to designing a functional and comprehensible airport navigation system, identify weaknesses and find solutions.
