An Advent concert is prepared by the Department of Music Education and Culture in cooperation with its chamber orchestra. Ryba’s mass, performed by young singers and musicians, will create a strong festive atmosphere. “It is a joy to see the energy and enthusiasm with which our students work on the performance of the Czech Christmas Mass. For many of them, it is not only a valuable musical experience but also a unique opportunity to discover the power of making music together,” says Romana Feiferlíková, Head of the Department of Music Education and Culture.
“Ryba’s mass is a work that brings together both performers and listeners. Every year, we look forward to returning to it and experiencing it anew – always a little differently, but with the same joy,” adds the choir and orchestra conductor Vít Aschenbrenner.
The musicians invite the general public to join them in enjoying the magical atmosphere of Advent, celebrating the end of the winter semester, and being carried away by melodies that symbolize the joy and peace of Christmas.
The Pilsen Academic Choir is preparing Ryba’s mass for the second year in a row. Those interested can also look forward to a second Christmas concert full of carols and Advent songs. It will take place on 15 December at 2 p.m. on the steps of the Faculty of Education building in Veleslavínova Street, symbolically closing the 2025 winter semester.
