Hinges of the Western Hemisphere: American artists present their site-specific projects

The Ladislav Sutnar Faculty of Design and Art at the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen would like to invite you to a lecture by American artists Ismael de Ando III and Eugene Ahn from Los Angeles.

The two renowned artists, who teach at the Art Department Faculty at Santa Monica College and collaborate with Los Angeles' Durden and Ray Gallery, will present their new project Hinges of the Western Hemisphere, which they are preparing especially for Prague's Altán Klamovka Gallery.

The lecture will introduce the audience to their interactive video installations and interventions that innovatively combine analogue and digital technologies. The artists demonstrate the use of site-specific aerial video and augmented reality as a means of active viewer engagement.

De Anda and Ahn will also share their extensive experience with international projects by the Los Angeles-based artist collective Durden and Ray Gallery and present their curatorial activities, including exhibitions produced in collaboration with the Torrance Art Museum.
