Movie Nights: Superbad

In collaboration with the American Center in Plzeň, the University Library invites you to movie nights at the Library Bory. The third film to be screened is the American coming-of-age comedy Superbad.

Superbad is a cautionary tale of two teenage boys about to graduate from high school. They are dependent on each other in a huge way, but now each of them is supposed to go to a different college and they are about to be separated. Evan (Michael Cera) is sweet, smart and shy. Seth (Jonah Hill) is brash, moody and obsessed with girls. In the film, we follow their desperate attempts to impress the people they desire during one crazy night... in one horrible, shameful night that you'll remember fondly for the rest of your life. This year, movie nights at the University Library include films from the "American High School Comedy Series" and you'll be able to watch how American high school has changed through the generations. The first film takes a peek into the world of Generation X, while the next two movie nights belong to Generations Z and Z-Alpha. The screening will conclude with a fourth film looking into the world of the youngest generation, Generation Z-Beta.

After the films Fast Times at Ridgemont High and Election, you can look forward to these films:

April 14 Superbad (2007)
May 7 Bottoms (2023)

The films will be screened in collaboration with the American Center in Plzeň in English with English subtitles, and each screening will be introduced in English by Bradley Vice, a lecturer at the Faculty of Education specializing in American literature. The screenings will take place in the hall of the Library Bory ( Univerzitní 18) starting at 5:00 p.m.
