The Center for Conflict Studies and the EUPeace Research Hub are organising an international conference on "The History of Security and Peace" at the University of Marburg on 9-11 October 2024.

The conference will explore key concepts of peace and security in global and domestic politics across different eras. These concepts are historically controversial and continue to spark debate, for example in the context of the war in Ukraine or the conflict between Israel and Gaza.

It will also focus on a critical examination of peace and security, their historical and contemporary challenges and potentials. It will include contributions from a variety of perspectives, including critical and feminist ones, that challenge traditional military and strategic views of security.

The event is organized by the Collaborative Research Center "Dynamics of Security", the Center for Conflict Studies as part of their biennial "Center Days" (Zentrumstage) and the EUPeace Research Hub "Security and Conflict Transformation".
