On Friday, 26 August, the Pilsen professional firefighters commemorated the 130th anniversary of the founding of their department. In addition to the celebration or a show of historical and contemporary equipment on the premises of Plzeňský Prazdroj, it was also an opportunity to thank and appreciate their partners. One such award also went to the University of West Bohemia, specifically to the RICE research centre of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering.

The commemorative medal of the Fire Rescue Corps of the Pilsen Region for long-term and significant cooperation with the Plzeň Territorial Department was awarded to Petr Kašpar, whose name is mainly associated with the development of smart firefighting suits and also with fire sensors used by drones.
