The aim of the workshop is not only to reflect philosophically on the current form of artificial intelligence and its impact on human thinking and communication, but also to elaborate philosophical methods and theories that can be useful for the actual development of beneficial and trustworthy artificial intelligence. The purpose of this interdisciplinary meeting is primarily to deepen the dialogue between philosophers, computer scientists and AI developers.

The workshop should also contribute to the development of the Philosophy for Artificial Intelligence follow-up study programme, which is being implemented at the UWB from the academic year 2021/22.

The opening lecture will be given by Prof. Hamid Ekbia from Indiana University, who was awarded an honorary doctorate by the UWB on November 9 for his contributions to interdisciplinary research in the field of artificial intelligence. The workshop will be closed by Lenka Hámošová from FAMU with a participatory seminar Sensing the Synthetic, in which attendees can experience the connection between natural and artificial imagination and creativity.

The workshop will be held in English. Those interested can register on the event website.
