For the third time, the University joined the initiative, and the proceeds increased once again. Compared to the previous year, 758 CZK more was collected.
With a donation of 7,622 CZK, the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen supported last year's collection for Veterans' Day organized by the Memory of Nations. Collection boxes were placed in November at four branches of the University Library, at the rectorate, in the building of the Faculty of Design and Art Ladislav Sutnar, in the Ladislav Sutnar Gallery, and also at Kulturka. Everyone who contributed could take a familiar wild poppy flower.

The University participated in the collection for the third time, and the proceeds increased again. Compared to the previous year, 758 CZK more was collected.

"The money from the collection helps war veterans, participants in the 3rd resistance movement, and opponents of totalitarian regimes of the 20th century. Colleagues from the Memory of the Nation Aid Center visit and contact almost a thousand witnesses each year, providing them with social care, counseling, or support in difficult life situations. The second part of the collection proceeds goes to the Memory of the Nation documentarians who record the stories of witnesses," says Aneta Sklenářová, representing the Pilsen organizational team of the Memory of Nations.

Contributions to the Memory of Nations can still be made, for example, through the online store or by any means, even with regular contributions.

We thank all donors!
