Sport Students Achievements

After a year, the students succeeded again, defending last year's gold. The male team from the University of West Bohemia secured fourth place.
The students of the University of West Bohemia returned to Pilsen with the best possible result after competing on May 1st and 2nd at the Moravian-Silesian Firefighter Area in Ostrava. They represented the colors of the Fire Team of the University of West Bohemia in the academic championship of the Czech Republic in fire sports.

Thanks to first place in the 100m hurdles, second place in the 4x100m hurdles relay, and second place in the fire attack, the firefighters finished first overall. They surpassed the Pardubice Chemical Secondary Technical School, hung gold medals around their necks, and defended last year's championship.

The male team of the University of West Bohemia also competed in Ostrava against other university teams but narrowly missed the podium in the final standings. While they won silver last year, this year they finished fourth out of eleven.

"We are glad that the university allowed us to represent at this championship, where we could once again demonstrate what we are capable of in the west. Our association is funded by resources from the University of West Bohemia, ČAUS, and GRAS 2024. We would like to thank them for their support," said Pavel Krýsl on behalf of the Fire Team of the University of West Bohemia.

Congratulations to the firefighters of the Fire Team of the University of West Bohemia for their performances, and thank you for representing the University of West Bohemia so excellently!
