For the fourth time, the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen is joining a charity collection to help war veterans. This year you can buy poppy flowers at several locations on the Borey campus and in the centre of Pilsen.
Students and employees of the University of West Bohemia can again help the Memory of the Nation organization
throughout November. After a year, the University of West Bohemia is once again joining
the charity collection organized by the organization on the occasion of the War Veterans Day on 11 November.
By donating at least CZK 50 to a special collection box, you will receive the now
iconic poppy flower. You can then pin it on your clothes or backpack, thus symbolically and concretely supporting veterans and other freedom fighters. In addition, proceeds from the Memory of a Nation collection will help document and preserve their stories for future generations.
Since 1 November, you can find these boxes at the UWB campus in the lobby of the
Rector's Office, at
the Ladislav Sutnar Faculty of Design and Art,
the University Library and
the university store, as well as in the city - at
the Philosophical and Law Library in sady Pětatřicátníků, the
Pedagogical and Medical Library on Klatovská třída
, the Ladislav Sutnar Gallery on Riegrova Street and
the Kulturka coworking centre in Sedláčkova Street.
The Memory of the Nation will also send volunteer teams with cash boxes to the streets, so it will be possible to contribute in several places. You can also support the collection at any time during the year, for example by paying online on the Memory of the Nation website.
Thank you to everyone who contributes!
