The in memoriam award was presented to the former lecturer of the Faculty of Law at the University of West Bohemia by the European Society for Legal History.
Professor Antonín Ignác Hrdina served for over a quarter of a century until his death in 2022 at the Department of Legal History at the Faculty of Law of the University of West Bohemia in Plzeň, where, alongside his academic work, he devoted himself particularly to the teaching of canon law. However, he was also one of the leading experts in the field of legal history, and he also focused on Roman law, confessional law, and legal theory and philosophy. He published more than twenty books and over a hundred scholarly articles.

The leadership of the European Society for Legal History entrusted the award presentation to Alexandra Bejvančická, a long-time collaborator of Professor Hrdina and currently a doctoral student at the Faculty of Law at the University of West Bohemia. On behalf of her deceased colleague, the award was then received by the abbot Daniel Peter Janáček in the premises of the Royal Canonry of Premonstratensians at Strahov.
