FZS student impressed at the Premio Iberoamericano language competition

Competition Students Achievements

Kateřina Svobodová, a 3rd year student of General Nursing, represented the Faculty of Health Care Studies at the 29th annual competition for the Ibero-American Award.

Kateřina Svobodová, a 3rd year student of the General Nursing combined study programme at the Department of Nursing and Midwifery, Faculty of Health Care Studies UWB, participated in the 29th Premio Iberoamericano competition this year.  The event took place on 21 May in the Patriotic Hall of Karolinum Prague.

The aim of the Ibero-American Award is to support Czech university students and their knowledge of the realities of the Ibero-American world and to strengthen relations between the Czech Republic, Latin American countries and the Iberian countries. The students produce a professional work in Spanish or Portuguese, the topic is any topic directly related to Latin America, the Caribbean or the Iberian Peninsula.

The student's competition topic stemming from her bachelor's thesis was entitled "Critical Thinking in Nursing" (Pensamiento crítico en enfermería) and attracted the attention of the Rector of Charles University, Professor Milena Králíčková, who is closely associated with the field of gynaecology.

The student also met with the Ambassador of the Peruvian Embassy, Néstor Popolizio, and Margarita Gianino Sánchez, a Spanish language teacher at UWB. The student received her diploma from the Cuban Ambassador Saylín Martínez Tarrío.
