Faculty of Law of UWB scored in the international round of student scientific competition

Eighty students from eight law faculties from the Czech Republic and Slovakia compared their professional theses in an international competition. The traditional competition, which takes the form of a professional conference, was hosted by the Faculty of Law of Masaryk University in Brno.

The Faculty of Law of the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen (FPR ZČU) was represented by six students and graduates in six sections of the competition for the best student professional work in the field of legal sciences. Their performances were judged by juries composed of academic staff from all eight participating law faculties. 

In an exceptionally high quality competition, UWB managed to win one first place. Specifically, Nela Černáková with her work "About the oldest patent office in Prague" , which won in the section Social Sciences, Roman Law and Legal History. The other competitors from FPR ZČU were also among the very positively evaluated in their sections. 

"All representatives of FPR ZČU should be appreciated not only for their valuable performances, but also for their responsible and positive approach to the whole competition, which they participated in even under sometimes difficult conditions. FPR ZČU thanks them for their excellent representation and of course congratulates the winner," said Zuzana Vostrá, who accompanied the students. 

The competition, which took place on Thursday 19 September, was hosted by the Faculty of Law of Masaryk University in Brno, which, in view of the flood situation, allowed the contestants and the judges to participate online. Next year's edition of the SVOČ (Student Professional and Scientific Activity) will be hosted by the Faculty of Law of Palacký University in Olomouc.
