The event is organized by the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the University of West Bohemia in Plzeň, in cooperation with Škoda JS, the general partner, and the CENEN (Czech Nuclear Education Network) association. The goal is to spark interest in nuclear energy not only among students but also the general public and to help dispel some of the myths surrounding the use of nuclear energy.

Nuclear Days will kick off on Thursday, September 12, at the NTIS Research Center of the Faculty of Applied Sciences with a two-day conference titled Nuclear Energy – A Carbon-Free Future for Europe, with participation promised by Tomáš Ehler, Director of the Nuclear Energy Department at the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic, Jan Barták, President of the French company NucAdvisor, Petr Závodský, General Director of the Dukovany II Power Plant, and other guests.

The exhibition aimed at the public will present key topics in the field of nuclear energy. Visitors can explore whether nuclear energy is safe, ecological, and useful in the entrance hall of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the University of West Bohemia until October 17.

As part of Nuclear Days, there will traditionally be lectures. On Monday, September 16, at 2:00 PM in the conference room UV 115b on the ground floor of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Jan Barták from NucAdvisor will give a lecture titled French Nuclear Energy and Its Importance for Europe's Decarbonization. Thematic presentations for high school students will take place every Wednesday from September 18 to October 16.

This year will also feature a poster session for students from both Czech and international universities. Authors of the most interesting contributions in the field of nuclear energy will be awarded a financial prize.
