Sutnar Faculty will showcase the work of its doctoral program students. The exhibition will be held from Saturday, 6 to Sunday, 21 June at the Granary gallery in Klenová. The exhibition presents a wide spectrum of approaches to contemporary visual art by PhD students of the Ladislav Sutnar Faculty of Design and Art, ranging from classical media through experimental to intermedia forms. It thus offers a unique insight into the process of artistic research in its current, living form. The projects of six exhibiting artists are united by an intellectual background and a conscious reflection on their own work, while each follows a distinct artistic path.
Since 2022, when the faculty opened its doctoral study program, Interdisciplinary Research through Visual Artistic Practice projects have emerged at the boundary between artistic practice and theoretical research. The artwork here is not merely the result of a creative process - it functions as a tool of inquiry, as a way of asking questions and seeking answers.
In June, Klenová will present work by Tereza Kovářová, Sergey Lelyukh, Anna-Marie Pavelková Mišterová, Michal Poustka, Petr Stehlík, and Michaela Šimonová. The exhibition was curated by artist and educator Josef Mištera, the faculty's founder and guarantor of the doctoral study program.
