The admission process for the 2025/2026 academic year at the Faculty of Law of the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen (FPR UWB) for the five-year Master's degree program in Law and Legal Science was open until the end of April, allowing prospective students to submit their applications. A total of 1,376 applicants applied, which is approximately 100 more than last year, marking a record high for recent years.
"The high interest in studying is due to several factors," said Stanislav Balík, Dean of the Faculty of Law. "It's driven not only by the appealing study program itself, which includes skill-based courses, opportunities for specialized projects, and the broad employability of graduates, but also by the faculty's family-like atmosphere."
The Faculty of Law at UWB does not administer its own entrance exam. For admission to the Master's program, it will rely on the results from the National Comparative Exams organized by Scio – specifically the General Academic Prerequisites and Fundamentals of Social Sciences tests. Applicants can take these National Comparative Exams on multiple dates, and only the best result from December 2024 to May 2025 will be counted.
Based on the entrance exam results, the Faculty of Law will make its decisions by the end of June at the latest. In September, a maximum of 380 students will begin their first year.
In addition to the five-year Master's degree program in Law and Legal Science, applicants can also apply for the Bachelor's degree program in Legal Specialization, the follow-up Master's degree program in Public Administration, and the Doctoral degree program in Theoretical Legal Sciences, specializing in Civil Law.
