Board games took over the Faculty of Education. Come and play too

Are you looking for a way to take a break from lectures and meet new people? Just come to a game night. The student association Přestávka organized an event full of board games at FPE, bringing together enthusiasts of all levels – from experienced strategists to complete beginners.

"Spending the evening playing board games was a fantastic idea – so many games, so many new people! What I enjoyed the most was trying out a game that I immediately fell in love with. The atmosphere throughout the event was amazing, and we had so many laughs," summarized one of the participants.

The student association Přestávka joined forces with the Department of Computing and Didactic Technology at the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen (KVD UWB), which provided a rich selection of board games. Thanks to this collaboration, participants had the opportunity to try both popular classics and lesser-known new releases. Additionally, KVD staff members acted as game guides, helping players discover the charm of new strategies.

"This was the first event organized by Přestávka that I attended, and I must say it was a great opportunity to switch off, relax, and momentarily forget about the daily academic (and personal) rush after a long time," added another student.

If you missed the event, don’t worry – regular board game Tuesdays at the Faculty of Education of UWB continue. The event takes place in the atrium on Veleslavínova Street every Tuesday from 6 PM. You can look forward to board games, great company, fun, and light refreshments. The event is primarily intended for students and faculty staff, but members of the public who find their way there are also welcome to join.

The student association Přestávka was founded at the Faculty of Education of UWB in 2021 with the goal of fostering community life at FPE. Its main event is the annual orientation course AMOS (Adaptation, Motivation, and Orientation Course), which helps first-year students establish new connections and gain useful information about their studies. In addition, the association organizes leisure activities such as the popular event Dance with Přestávka, which encourages informal movement and social engagement, and the newly introduced Sports Afternoon with Přestávka. In the past, the association also organized a summer camp for children.
