Competition Students Achievements
Solo singing, playing the piano or stringed instruments and choir mastery - not only in these categories, students of the Faculty of Education of the UWB competed in the National Round of the Student Interpretation Competition of the Faculties of Education of the Czech Republic with international participation on May 9 and 10. This year, the Faculty of Education of the Palacký University in Olomouc took over the organization.
All competitions had two categories. The first category was attended by students of specialized pedagogic-artistic fields, teaching students of the elementary art schools and graduates of secondary or higher art schools in the given field. In II. category then everyone else.
Some of the six representatives of the UWB, who study at the Department of Music Culture and Education, also competed in two disciplines, and most of them brought home at least one of the prizes or special awards.
In classical solo singing, Jana Šístková won in the I. category and Jindřich Krstev in the II. category. He also shone in the category of solo singing of non-artificial music – he won 1st place. Another contestant from Pilsen, Daniela Kaufnerová, was awarded an honorable mention.
Stanislav Mikšovský charmed the jury with his accordion playing and won in the field of playing other instruments in the 1st category.
However, according to the teachers, all the contestants, even those who were not awarded - Johana Petrovičová (solo singing) and Václav Šlajs (piano) - should be praised for their concentrated and interpretatively precise performances. Thanks also go to the pedagogues doc. Daniela Mandysová, Romana Feiferlíková, Ph.D. and the Brazilian guest of the Department of Music Culture prof. Gladis Falavignae for the demanding work in the juries and the pianist dr. Galina Gvozdevskaia for the excellent piano accompaniment of the singers.
