The Faculty Academic Senate elected Vojtěch Aubrecht, who has led the faculty since 2022, as the candidate for dean for the 2026-2030 term in the first round of the initial elections. In the secret ballot, he was elected with nine votes out of ten senators present, with one abstention.
In his second term, he wants to deepen the interdisciplinary nature of education, strengthen cooperation with strategic partners, and develop international collaboration and the faculty's open environment. He also aims to strengthen the faculty's position as a leader in providing interdisciplinary education, focus on further development of the faculty's creative and research activities supported by prestigious projects and partnerships with renowned international institutions, and support an environment that connects students, educators, and the public. "In the short time our faculty has existed, I think we have already made it sufficiently clear that we are here, that we have excellent results, and our significance extends beyond regional and national boundaries. Our current task is to communicate more clearly who exactly we are, what our profile is, and what makes us unique," said Vojtěch Aubrecht regarding his priorities.
Vojtěch Aubrecht also headed the faculty over the past four years – he was first appointed dean in February 2022. The new four-year term will now be decided by the Rector of the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen.
MgA. Vojtěch Aubrecht (*1972) has been working at the Ladislav Sutnar Faculty of Design and Art since 2008.
