On January 18th and 19th, 2024, the Conference on Lawyer and Politician Antonín Schauer took place in the Jesuit Refectory in Klatovy, in conjunction with the traditional 19th Conference on the History of Advocacy. The event was co-organized by the City of Klatovy, the Faculty of Law at the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen, and the Czech Bar Association. Among the speakers were representatives from the faculty, including both educators and former students who had dedicated their research to the history of advocacy in their theses.

Dean Stanislav Balík, in his presentation, provided insights into Antonín Schauer, a native of Klatovy and an honorary citizen, as a lawyer. Karolína Truhlářová focused on the destinies of the Czech Lipsk lawyer Erich Weisse and his wife Emilie. Lukáš Malý, on the other hand, delved into advocacy and justice in Victorian Scotland and Ireland. The conference featured 14 additional presentations from participants in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, including topics such as the legal families of Kloud, Fikar, and Melan.

The outcome of the conference is expected to be a collection of proceedings, published in 2024. A detailed report on the event was provided by the Advocacy Journal, and a video was produced during the conference. The highlight was a commented tour of the building of the District Court in Klatovy, designed by architect Bedřich Bendelmayer.
