After a year of intensive work, the organizers from the Department of Political Science and International Relations at the Faculty of Arts of the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen are presenting the second annual Pilsen Security Conference, which will take place on May 5 and 6, 2026, now as a two-day event open to the general public. The organizers only ask that attendees register in advance.
The main theme of the conference remains The Citizen: The Foundation of National Security. “In a dynamic and uncertain security environment, we want to serve as a bridge between experts and the citizens of the Czech Republic. Our goal is to work together to explain key security issues clearly and openly, whether they concern local, regional, or national topics,” said Miroslav Plundrich the conference’s founder and head of the organizing team.
The main topics of the panel discussions and roundtables will include current challenges in ensuring internal security and building a resilient society, changes in security policy and the modernization of the military, as well as hybrid threats and cybersecurity. The full program is available on the conference website.
The second edition of the conference will take place under the patronage of Minister of Defense Jaromír Zůna, Minister of the Interior Lubomír Metnar, Chief of the General Staff of the Czech Armed Forces, Army General Karel Řehka, and Pilsen City Councilor for Security and Crime Prevention Tomáš Kotora.
