35 years of freedom: the celebration of 17 November is approaching

Festival Concert Lecture

This Sunday, 17 November, we will commemorate 35 years since the Velvet Revolution and International Student Day, which is a reminder of the tragic events that took place in 1939. How will the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen get involved and what programme is waiting for you?

TheUniversity of West Bohemia participates in several events on this day. As part of the Reflection of Freedom festival, co-organised by Memory of the Nation, Moving Station, DEPO2015 and the City of Pilsen, you will see stage performances, the Faculty of Education invites you to a panel discussion and the Student Symphony Orchestra will play.

Where to go on Sunday 17 November:

- Strike! Strike! Strike! At 2, 3, 4, and 5 p.m., you can watch a repeat of the stage action at the Faculty of Law of the University of UWB. We will commemorate the place that was first taken over by students. In the scenic action prepared by today's high school students, you will be able to experience the reverberations of endless document rewriting, sleeping bags and mom's buns, as well as fear, determination and fatigue. You will experience what the Velvet Revolution was like in an authentic place. Check the Facebook event for details and other events.

- You can come to Veleslavín Street 42 at the Faculty of Education of the University of UWB to discuss the transformations of education over the last 35 years in the panel discussion Crossroads of the Revolution, which will take place from 17:00 to 18:30.

- From 6 pm you can enjoy a concert by the Student Symphony Orchestra in DEPO2015. You will hear classical and film, Czech and foreign music performed by Pilsen students. For more details, visit Instagram.
